Boston has always been more than a place on the map. It’s a city of ideas, culture, resilience, and creativity — a place where history and innovation live side by side. The Boston Made Foundation was created to honor that spirit and to ensure the people, places, and institutions that make Boston special are seen, supported, and celebrated.
As the philanthropic arm of Boston Made, Inc., the Foundation exists to uplift the city we love by showcasing the incredible businesses, cultural landmarks, and community spaces that define Boston’s character. From locally owned restaurants and independent hotels to museums, theatres, cultural centers, and neighborhood staples, our mission is simple: shine a light on what makes Boston great — and make that visibility accessible to everyone.
A Foundation Built on Visibility, Access, and Community
Boston Made Foundation is a community program of Boston Made, Inc., centered on promotion with purpose. It is not a registered 501(c)(3) charity. We believe that exposure creates opportunity, and opportunity strengthens communities. By providing a platform where Boston-based businesses and institutions can be discovered, supported, and shared, we help connect residents, visitors, and supporters to the heart of the city.
Our directory is open and inclusive. Businesses and organizations can claim or create a listing absolutely free — because supporting Boston shouldn’t come with barriers. Whether you’re a family-owned restaurant, a boutique hotel, a historic theatre, or a cultural institution, the Foundation exists to help tell your story.
More Than a Directory — A Civic Mission
This isn’t about advertising. It’s about stewardship. Boston Made Foundation is committed to preserving and promoting the city’s cultural and economic fabric for the long term. Every listing, feature, and spotlight is part of a larger effort to document, celebrate, and reinvest in Boston’s local ecosystem.
By centralizing discovery and storytelling, we help ensure that Boston’s best — past, present, and future — remains visible and valued.
Rooted in the Boston Made Philosophy
Boston Made, Inc. was built on craftsmanship, intention, and long-term value. The Foundation carries that same philosophy into its community work. Our role is to give back by building a public-facing platform that serves the city, supports its contributors, and amplifies its voice.
Boston gives so much to the world. The Boston Made Foundation exists to give something back — thoughtfully, transparently, and with purpose.
