Community Guidelines
Last updated September 2026
Our purpose
Boston Made is a community for business owners, entrepreneurs, and supporters who believe in the power of diverse, locally-rooted businesses. These guidelines exist to keep this space welcoming, constructive, and safe for everyone.
Be respectful
Treat every member with dignity. Disagreement is fine; personal attacks, harassment, threats, and hate speech are not. This includes content targeting people based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, national origin, or any other protected characteristic.
Be accurate
Only submit business listings for businesses you own, operate, or are authorized to represent. All information must be accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not submit false, misleading, or duplicate listings. Listings are reviewed before publication and may be removed if found to be inaccurate.
No spam or self-promotion spam
Sharing your business or work is welcome in the right context. Repetitive promotional posts, unsolicited direct messages, and off-topic advertising are not. Use the directory for business promotion; use the community feed for genuine conversation.
Respect privacy
Do not share other people's personal information without their consent. Do not post content that reveals private details about individuals who have not chosen to make that information public.
Reporting violations
If you see content that violates these guidelines, use the Report button on any post, comment, or listing. Our moderation team reviews all reports. Repeated or serious violations may result in content removal or account suspension.
Enforcement
Boston Made reserves the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these guidelines. We aim to be consistent and fair. If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, contact us through the Contact page.
